The presence of APDRA in Liberia is a continuation of projects in Côte d'Ivoire and Guinea and aims to create a sub-regional network of fish farms. From January 2010 to December 2013, APDRA implemented the IFIDEP (Development of Sustainable Inland Fishfarming to Achieve Food Security in Rural Liberia) project, which resulted in the installation of nearly 150 fish farmers in the Bong, Lofa and Nimba counties.
Since December 2019, APDRA has been working again in these three counties through the implementation of the FishLib project: "Enhancing smallholder fish farming by agro-ecological intensification and integration into inclusive commercial value chain". This action is funded by the European Union and by the NGO IECD.
To carry out its actions, APDRA works in partnership with the Liberian NGO Catalyst Inc. It also collaborates closely with the National Fisheries & Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA).
